Dr. Ama Oforiwaa Aduonum of Illinois State University’s School of Music will explore the roots of Black music in her presentation “Say it Loud!” from 8-10 p.m. Thursday, March 18. The virtual presentation is free and open to the public.
Art, activism of music of Black Americans with Dr. Ollie Watts Davis, March 22
Dr. Ollie Watts Davis, the Suzanne and William Allen Distinguished Professor in Music at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), will present “Yet With A Steady Beat: The Art, Aesthetics, and Activism of the Music of Black Americans” at 7 p.m. March 22.
