Ameliah Tawlks ’15 is an alumna of the Department of English’s publishing studies program who completed multiple professional experiences, including the production assistant internship for the Publications Unit. Tawlks has now built a career in project management bridging her interests in business and technical communication.

Jamie Koch ’14 is an Illinois State University alumna from the Department of English’s publishing studies program who completed a production internship at the Publications Unit and currently works as project manager for online assessment content in McGraw Hill’s Connect platform at McGraw Hill Education in Chicago.
English Department alum publishes poetry chapbook
Alumna of the Department of English and the Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program, poet, scholar, teacher, community activist, and feminist Jenna Goldsmith is publishing her third book of poetry in February 2021.
Obsidian wins NEA grant
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has announced Obsidian: Literature and Arts in the African Diaspora is the recipient of a $50,000 NEA CARES grant.
@Salon Pride: Queer Sound 2020 every Tuesday in June

Lisa Savage ’01, M.S. ’03, is an Illinois State University alumna from the former publishing and the nonprofit literary arts program (currently publishing studies) in the Department of English. She spent her time at Illinois State as a production intern at the Publications Unit and a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the national English honor society.

Publications Unit welcomes Feral Feminisms editor Dr. Ela Przybylo, February 21
Dr. Ela Przybylo, assistant professor in the Department of English and core faculty in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Illinois State University, will present “Publishing as Worldmaking: Why and How to Start a Badass Feminist Journal,” which will be followed by an in-depth Q&A. The event is set for 10 a.m. to noon Friday, February 21, at the Publications Unit at Illinois State University in Williams Hall Annex.
