Illinois State University’s Symphonic Band and Symphonic Winds will present a concert on Sunday, Oct. 10, at 3 p.m. in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Tickets are $8 general admission, $7 faculty and staff, and $6 for students and seniors.
The Symphonic Band, conducted by Daniel A. Belongia, will perform Bali by composer Michael Colgrass; the Midwest premiere of Ryan George’s Redwood; and “Lisbon,” “Horkstow Grange,” “The Brisk Young Sailor,” and “The Lost Lady Found” from Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy.
The Symphonic Winds will perform Ron Nelson’s composition Rocky Point; October by Eric Whitacre; and “Ritmico,” “Molt vivo (for the Woodwinds),” “Lento (for the Brass),” and “Molto ritmico” from Philip Sparke’s Dance Movements. The Symphonic Winds are under the baton of Stephen K. Steele and guest conductor Joseph Manfredo.
