Illinois State University’s School of Theatre will present George Bernard Shaw’s Major Barbara on Dec. 8, 9 10, 11 at 7:30 pm, and on Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. in Westhoff Theatre.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens. Tickets may be purchased at the Center for the Performing Arts ticket office.

The play, directed by School of Theatre Professor Sandra Zielinski, is the satirical story of Major Barbara Undershaft, a Salvation Army officer, who becomes disillusioned when her Christian denomination accepts money from her father, an armaments manufacturer, and from a whisky distiller. She eventually decides that bringing a message of salvation to people who have plenty will be more fulfilling and genuine than converting the starving in return for bread.
