Illinois State University’s Concert Choir, Madrigal Singers, Men’s Glee Club and Women’s Choir will perform in concert at the Choral Showcase on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. in the University’s Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall. Tickets are $8 for general admission, $7 for faculty and staff members and $6 for students and seniors.
The Concert Choir will perform I am in Need of Music by David Brunner, El Vito by Mack Wilberg and Samuel Barber’s Agnus Dei. Double, Double, Toil and Trouble by Jaakko Mantyjarvi and Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind by John Rutter will be performed by the Madrigal Singers. Both groups are conducted by Karyl Carlson, director of choral activities in Illinois State’s School of Music.
The Men’s Glee Club will sing Dan Davison’s Ritmo, Cry Out and Shout by Kurt Nystedt and The Arrow and the Song by Joseph M. Martin. To Those Who See by Dede Duson and Donald Patriquin’s arrangement of Savory, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme will be performed by the Women’s Choir. The Men’s Glee Club is conducted by Tim Fredstrom, assistant director of the School of Music. Sarah Graham, the School of Music’s assistant director of choral activities, conducts the Women’s Choir.
