State Farm still has 2013 Summer Internship positions available. State Farm is seeking qualified students with skills in the following areas:

  • Java Programming – 1 opening
  • Data Analytics – 4 openings
  • Data Specialist – 1 opening

As a general rule State Farm seeks students with a 3.0 and above GPA. State Farm requires that interns have one semester or more to complete after the summer internship. For example, they are planning to attend ISU in the fall 2013 semester.

Note from Tal: I would advise students who have strong skills in a desired area, but are below the 3.0 GPA to apply by submitting a cover letter and resume. Students who’s GPA is below 3.0 should take advantage of the cover letter to state what steps they are currently taking to improve their GPA, especially if it is likely they will improve their GPA to 3.0 or better before summer. Students should also emphasize assignments, projects or experiences that demonstrate their skill in the desired area.
