Many of the 6,000 students moving into Illinois State’s residence halls and Cardinal Court apartments this week will find some creative ways to make their new rooms look a little homier.

The STATEside crew dived into the Dr. Jo Ann Rayfield Archives to find out how students in past years (now alumni) dressed up their new digs—and we found some absolute gems. Check it out below.
