A set of official Redbird emojis will give Illinois State students, alumni, and friends a new way to spread the red on their mobile devices.
The new Illinois State emoji keyboard includes Reggie Redbird’s face—happy, sad, and everywhere in between—plus emojis for Coach Brock Spack, the ISU football and basketball teams, the University’s Laboratory Schools, the Big Red Marching Machine, and other ISU logos.
The emojis are available for free on the App Store and Google Play Store. Search for “Illinois State Keyboard” in either store to find the app, and then follow the instructions within the app to install the keyboard onto your device. The keyboard includes 35 emojis and animated GIFs.
The emojis were designed by University Marketing and Communications (UMC) graphic designer Mike Mahle. UMC partnered with the Office of Admissions and Redbird Athletics to launch the emoji keyboard, which was created by Snaps. The Illinois State Keyboard app went live in November.
The emojis are primarily for use in messaging applications. Most social networks do not support the copying and pasting of emojis.
