Assess ways to increase student engagement. Examine strategies that can be used when leading a faculty development workshop. Review several components of ReggieNet.

ReggieNet Communication
Tuesday, May 26 • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Learn how the communication tools provided with ReggieNet can be used to encourage student interaction. You will be introduced to Discussions, Chat Rooms, Course Mail, and the Email Tool. You will also learn how to choose the right tool for specific instructional situations. This course is part of CTLT’s Summer Institute, and eligible participants may receive a stipend for completing this workshop. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet.

How to Lead a Faculty Development Workshop
Wednesday, May 27 • 1 to 3 p.m.

This special workshop is for those who work in campus units that might partner with CTLT to facilitate professional development events for faculty members. Learn to create learning outcomes for such events, develop interactive learning activities, and identify appropriate assessment strategies.

Increase Engagement in Large Lecture Courses
Thursday, May 28 • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Teaching a large class includes special challenges. Investigate teaching strategies to reach not just some, but all, of your students. Determine the most important behaviors, issues, and activities to address the first day of your class to set a tone for the entire semester. This workshop will help you craft a plan specific to your unique teaching situation, so students can thrive. Facilitator: Cyndy Ruszkowski

ReggieNet Content and Organization
Thursday, May 28 • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Explore several ways to organize course materials in ReggieNet, including the Lesson Builder and Calendar tools. You will also learn how to integrate multimedia content. This course will also briefly discuss organizing content in other ReggieNet features, such as the Resources and Materials and Web Content tools. Prerequisite: Introduction to ReggieNet.
