Tip of the hat to Student Health Insurance staff
Customer Service week is October 5–9, and we want to thank the Student Health Insurance staff of Student Health Services for the wonderful customer service they provide to students here at Illinois State. On average, the insurance staff receives over 70 calls a day inquiring about insurance services, and weekly the specialists see hundreds of students to help them file medical claims. Yearly, our insurance staff processes over 30,000 medical claims saving millions of dollars in bills for students.
The Student Health Insurance staff is dedicated to providing the best customer service to students and their parents. Oftentimes it is difficult taking your student away to school, but knowing there is proper health care and insurance gives parents peace of mind.
Student Health Insurance receives rave reviews from parents and students, and here is an example of the wonderful service they provided from a parent. “I just wanted to give a kudos to the guy working in the Student Insurance office. It was almost 5 p.m. when I stopped in (I’m a parent of a freshman), and he not only was patient with me and my questions, but didn’t have the attitude of ‘it’s almost time to go home.'”
Student Health Insurance is included in tuition and fees for students who are taking at least nine hours in the fall/spring and six hours in the summer. Students have access to a wonderful plan, which is designed to be a primary plan for students with no other coverage or secondary to students with other plans.
