Several of Illinois State’s affinity alumni groups will be a part of Homecoming this year, providing a chance to reconnect with fellow Redbirds and networking opportunities. These groups include the Black Colleagues Association, Latin@ Alumni Network, and LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Queer, Ally) Alumni Network.
The Latin@ Alumni Network invites alumni and friends to join in on several activities during Homecoming—including a new event this year, Mix and Mingle con LAN. Alumni can enjoy a group run during the Town and Gown 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, tailgating, and the social event all happening on October 24. For a complete list of events and registration, visit Alumni.IllinoisState.edu/Latino/Homecoming.
The Black Colleagues Association (BCA) is a dynamic, diverse group of alumni and friends that host a variety of events throughout Homecoming weekend. This year’s main events include a mixer, new school party, concert, and scholarship brunch. ISU BCA has put together a Homecoming weekend package for those interested in attending all weekend events. For a complete list of events, pricing, and registration, visit Alumni.IllinoisState.edu/BCA/Homecoming.
LGBTQA alumni and friends are invited to a Homecoming open house on October 24 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Professional Development Annex on Main Street. Coffee and donuts will be provided as guests learn what the LGBT/Queer Studies and Services Institute does for Illinois State as it continues to promote equity and social justice for the community.
