Don’t forget to mark your calendars. Starting October 5, the State Employees Combined Appeal (SECA) campaign is back at Illinois State University.
SECA is an effort throughout Illinois that allows all state employees to give to their favorite charities through their employers. Last year the campaign sent in more than $48,000 to local, state, and national charities. The campaign runs through October 31.
President Larry Dietz noted the SECA campaign provides the campus a platform for joint giving. “Our Illinois State family members give in so many ways—with their time, their talents, and their resources,” he said. “For those who can help support wonderful causes outside the University, SECA gives us a way to do that together.”
Employees can donate through payroll deduction, or write checks directly to the charities and send them through campus mail. “SECA is an easy way to give to your favorite charities,” said SECA Chair Georgia Martin. “If you write a check to different charities every year, save a stamp and place them in campus mail with a SECA form, or you can have it taken out of your paycheck through payroll deduction. It’s a simple way to give.”
