The International Association of Counseling Services (IACS) announced that Illinois State University’s Student Counseling Services earned re-accreditation.

The IACS’s Board of Accreditation noted Illinois State’s Student Counseling Services maintained a strong reputation for expertise and dedication to students’ mental health. “Additionally, the center supports an excellent, vibrant, nationally recognized, and well-regarded training program,” said Janet Spoltore of the IACS.

“The accreditation process provides us with a great opportunity to step back and make sure that we are offering the best services and programs to our students that we can,” said Director of Counseling Services Sandy Colbs, who added the accreditation is based on a “robust set of standards for our unique specialty of college-student mental health care.”

The re-accreditation will run from 2015 to 2020.  For additional information on the re-accreditation, contact Colbs at (309) 438-3574.
