Students from the Technology and Engineering Education Collegiate Association (TEECA) attended the 22nd annual Illinois Technology Education Conference on October 16 and 17. They also competed in the TEECA Midwest Regional Conference at the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in Normal.

During the conference, TEECA members heard from the 2015 Illinois Teacher of Year, Steven Elza, a technology and engineering teacher from Fremd High School. TEECA members also participated in breakout sessions ranging from STEM and architectural design, to introduction to 3D literacy.

ISU TEECA students competed against their counterparts from other Midwest institutions including, University of Northern Iowa and Ball State University. In the five competitions that were held, ISU won three: Communications, Quiz Bowl, and Transportation. In the spring, students will compete against students from around the country at the International Technology and Engineering Education Association’s Annual Conference in Washington, D.C.
