Friends of the Arts at Illinois State University will present the Hot Jazz on a Cool Night event from 5:30-8 p.m. Friday, January 22, in the University Galleries at Uptown Station in Normal. The event will feature a performance by Glenn Wilson and the Jazz Maniacs, a cash bar, and a chance to view the 2016 Faculty Biennial exhibition at University Galleries. A $10 donation is suggested to support scholarships for fine arts students at Illinois State.
Saxophonist Glenn Wilson has worked and recorded with the Buddy Rich Band, the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra, Tito Puente, the Bob Belden Ensemble, and scores of other jazz and Latin-jazz groups. More information on Wilson can be found at www.jazzmaniac.com.
