poster for the Vagina MonologuesThe annual performances of The Vagina Monologues at Illinois State University will coincide with V-Day, a global movement to end violence against women and girls.

The shows will run February 4-6 in the Old Main Room of the Bone Student Center. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the performance starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. All proceeds will be donated to community organizations.

The event is sponsored by Illinois State’s student group Feminist Led Activist Movement to Empower (F.L.A.M.E.). The evening will contain mature content with a recurring theme of the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality.
