The winner of the 2016 Clarence W. Sorensen Distinguished Dissertation Award is Emerson Keith Bowers of the School of Biological Sciences. Bowers won for his dissertation titled “Family Life in the House Wren: Sibling Rivalry, Sex Allocation, and Parental Care.”
Bowers’ dissertation committee included Professor Emeritus of Biological Sciences Charles Thompson (co-chair) and Distinguished Professor of Biological Sciences Scott Sakaluk (co-chair), Professor of Biological Sciences Rachel Bowden, Associate Professor of Biological Sciences Joseph Casto, and Distinguished Professor of Biological Sciences Steven Juliano.
The 25th annual Sorensen Distinguished Dissertation Award is sponsored by the Graduate School of Illinois State University.
