Opportunity awaits those looking to become successful leaders.
In partnership with the McLean County Chamber of Commerce, the Organizational Leadership Institute at Illinois State University’s College of Business is hosting a Leadership Certificate Program. The series includes four in-depth sessions on the foundations of organizational leadership, building high performance organizations, applied organizational leadership, strategy development and implementation and ends with a panel review. At the program’s conclusion, participants will receive a certificate of completion from the Leadership Institute.
Each session is facilitated by full-time faculty members from the College of Business. Director of the Organizational Leadership Institute Rick Ringer says bringing research and real skill together will give participants a unique learning experience. “These faculty are extremely talented and accomplished in the field. They’re current on research and are superb instructors and facilitators. People will find this program to be highly insightful.”
In addition to providing insights, Ringer hopes the program provides an understanding of leadership where individuals can go back to their organizations with perspectives and courses of action that will make them better leaders.
Sessions occur in an all-day format which allows participants to explore topics in-depth. Activities are highly interactive and include small break outs, case studies, and opportunities to reflect on what it means to be a leader and what are the expectations of leadership in organizations.
The series includes four in-depth sessions on the foundations of organizational leadership, building high performance organizations, applied organizational leadership, strategy development and implementation, and ends with a panel review.“We’re convinced that people learn best when they can apply content to their roles and interact with others,” commented Ringer. “This program does just that through lots of interaction and discussion.”
Ringer adds that participants don’t have to be a labeled hierarchical leader within an organization to benefit from the program. “Leadership is all about how we influence others to accomplish goals and move in a specific direction. It’s not necessary you be in a managerial role to be an effective leader. This program is for anyone who wants to become a more successful leader in general and get better at what they do.”
Registration is now open and will close when the program is full. Fees are $650 for ISU alumni and graduates of Leadership McLean County. Cost for all others is $775. Sessions take place on the following Fridays from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.:
