What can you do to create a truly successful first day of class? How do you craft a syllabus that strikes the right tone with your students? How do you excite students about the next 16 weeks while still setting high expectations for their learning?
These are just a few of the questions tackled in the first three episodes of Let’s Talk Teaching, now available. It’s a new audio podcast made just for those who teach at Illinois State University, produced by the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology. Each episode explores a different topic related to the classroom experience, best teaching practices, common challenges, and ways to enhance student learning.
Episodes are about 20 minutes in length, perfect for the drive to or from campus. Listeners can subscribe to the show using their favorite podcast app or through Apple’s iTunes Store—it’s free! Faculty can also listen to episodes on their desktop or laptop at CTLT.IllinoisState.edu/Podcast. Show pages include links to sites discussed in the episode and additional helpful information.
New episodes will debut every Thursday, with special bonus episodes appearing from time-to-time.
