Healthy You, Healthy Earth
Your environment plays a huge role in overall wellness. For more than 10 years, Health Promotion and Wellness and the Office of Sustainability have coordinated Healthy You, Healthy Earth wellness and sustainability fair. This year’s event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, in the Brown Ballroom. Attend presentations, visit with exhibitors, and recycle unwanted clothes and electronics! Healthy You, Healthy Earth is open to Illinois State students, faculty, and staff as well as the Bloomington-Normal community.

Lifestyle Enhancement Classes
Health Promotion and Wellness offers a variety of classes aimed to help employees stress less and reduce back discomfort. Classes include Noon and Tuesday Yoga, Balanced Bellies and Backs, T’ai Chi, Table Tennis, and more. Additional information and registration materials are available online.

Massage
Health Promotion and Wellness partners with Aches Away to bring massage to campus twice a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Massages are $15 for 15 minutes and consecutive appointments can be made to receive a longer massage. Participants pay the massage therapist directly at the time of service. View available appointments and register online.

Mindfulness Classes
Two employee Mindfulness Classes are being held this fall in September and late October. Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the moment, and nonjudgmentally. During this workshop, you will learn and practice various mindfulness and meditation techniques that can help improve sleep; reduce stress and anxiety; improve focus, performance, and eating behaviors; and contribute to a greater sense of well-being and happiness. This class meets once a week for four weeks and each session is 60 minutes. Mindfulness classes are free, but registration is required.
