Born and bred on Chicago’s South Side, Jeremih taught himself how to play several instruments and didn’t consider himself a vocalist until a warmly received talent show performance. In college, he struck up a partnership with fledgling producer Mick Schultz, and the two closely collaborated on the material that became Jeremih’s debut album. In March 2009, his first single debuted on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip Hop chart, eventually topped it, and even crossed into the Top Ten of the Hot 100.
His self-titled debut album reached number six on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. Jeremih’s success continued with the release of his second album, All About You, led by the single “Down on. Me,” which also reached the top five of the Billboard Hot 100. In 2014, his single “Don’t Tell ’Em” became his third top-10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Jeremih released his third studio album, Late Nights in 2015. Nominated for a Grammy, an American Music Award, and Billboard Music Awards, Jeremih is the winner of multiple Chicago Music Awards.
