Diversity Advocacy is looking for volunteers to assist with the Tunnel of Oppression program from noon-4 p.m. February 7-8, in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center.
The Tunnel of Oppression is a 20-30 minute interactive theater, focusing on racism, sexism, classism, ableism, homophobia, and language. The purpose is to engage students, faculty, and staff in experiences that are not like their own and to learn about the marginalization of other groups while empowering them to break the barriers that stand in the way of all people being treated equally.
Volunteers are needed for roles such as actors/actresses, guides, introducers, and “debriefers.” Those interested can sign up using this link.
Those signing up with receive a calendar with all important dates including practices, a one-day training, and promotional days. Practice will begin at 6:30 p.m. January 18.
Those with questions or concerns, can contact Jade Triplett at vpsajttripl@ilstu.edu or call (309) 438-8968.
