Hannah Tomlin ’09, M.S. ’12, who earned a bachelor’s in political science and a master’s in global politics and culture at Illinois State University, completed a Ph.D. in educational policy studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in February 2017. Her dissertation was titled “Food for Thought: The Role of Land Grant Institutions in Small Farm and Local Food Education.”
Tomlin wrote her master’s thesis under the supervision of Illinois State Professor Carlos Parodi in 2012. The thesis was titled “Contesting ideologies and the Struggle for Equality: The Politics of Education in South Africa.”
