Honors
Carl Schimmel, MUS, received a Goddard Lieberson Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Goddard Lieberson Fellowships, endowed in 1978 by the CBS Foundation, are given to gifted mid-career composers.

Presentations
Christopher Breu, ENG, was the invited chair for “Objects of Refuge/Refuge of Objects Conference” at the Obama Institute for Transnational American Studies, University of Mainz, Germany.

Ali Riaz, POL, made two presentations and participated in a workshop at the International Studies Association Convention in Baltimore, Maryland. Riaz presented a paper titled “Bangladesh: From a Hybrid Regime to An Authoritarian State?” and spoke at the roundtable “Rethinking IR in South Asia.” He also participated in the “South Asia in World Politics” roundtable.

Publications
Brandon McDaniel, FCS, co-authored two articles for the journal Computers in Human Behavior titled “Do you dare to compare? Associations between maternal social comparisons on social networking sites and parenting, mental health, and romantic relationship outcomes” and “Do you have anything to hide? Infidelity-related behaviors on social media sites and marital satisfaction.”

Timothy Lash, CHE, published “Carbaporphyrinoid Systems” in Chemical Reviews.

Steve Halle, ENG, gave a poetry reading and a lecture on small-press translation publishing at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio.
