The next round of proposal submission deadlines for the National Institutes of Health will be in June.
The Research Project (R01) grant is an award made to support a discrete, specified, circumscribed project to be performed by the named investigator(s) in an area representing the investigator’s specific interest and competencies, based on the mission of the NIH. The R01 deadline is June 5, 2017.
The R21 grant mechanism is intended to encourage exploratory/developmental research by providing support for the early and conceptual stages of project development. The R21 deadline is June 16, 2017.
The R03 grant mechanism will support small research projects that can be carried out in a short period of time with limited resources. The R03 deadline is June 16, 2017.
The R15 grant mechanism is intended to support meritorious research, expose students to research, and strengthen the research environment of the institution. The R15 deadline is June 25, 2017.
