Illinois State University has once again been named a “Great College to Work For” by The Chronicle of Higher Education. The “Great Colleges to Work For” designation recognizes institutions that have created exceptional work environments. This is the third consecutive year that the University has earned that honor.
Illinois State continues to receive high rankings in multiple categories, including collaborative governance, confidence in senior leadership, teaching environment, and tenure clarity and process.
“In addition to national recognition for academic quality and value, Illinois State University is consistently honored for its outstanding workplace environment,” said President Larry Dietz. “The Chronicle of Higher Education’s “Great Colleges to Work For” designation demonstrates that Illinois State is more than just a university and an employer, it is a welcoming, caring, and supportive community that values the talents, work, and contributions of all members.”
The “Great Colleges to Work For” report for 2017 is based on a survey of 232 colleges and universities. In all, only 79 of the 232 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition in at least one of the categories for their specific best practices and policies.
