The Missouri Valley Conference has added Valparaiso University to the league following the departure of Wichita State. Valparaiso is an independent Lutheran institution in Indiana that sponsors 17 sports.
The Valpo Crusaders had been part of the Horizon League prior to joining the MVC July 1. They will begin competing in the upcoming 2017-2018 season.
“We are excited to welcome Valpo to the league,” said ISU Athletics Director Larry Lyons. “They are a good fit academically and athletically.” MVC Commissioner Doug Elgin agreed, saying Valparaiso “will be a great fit competing in our league.”
