Professor of English Gabriel Gudding will give a poetry reading at the next U-Club meeting at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 6, in the Atrium of the Bone Student Center.
The coordinator of creative writing at Illinois State University, Gudding is the author of several books and chapbooks. Some of his works include Literature for Nonhumans (2015), Rhode Island Notebook (2007), and A Defense of Poetry (Pitt, 2002), among others. His essays and poems have appeared in Harper’s Magazine, The Nation, Journal of the History of Ideas, Great American Prose Poems, Best American Poetry, Best American Experimental Writing, and &Now: Best Innovative Writing.
All faculty, staff, annuitants, and guests are welcome to attend University Club, which runs from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Continued program support is provided by the Office of the Provost and the Office of the President. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
