President Larry Dietz announced the new Living Our Values Awards during the Founders Day celebration in the Brown Ballroom.
“The awards will recognize those who are infusing Illinois State’s core values into their work and life,” said Dietz.
The awards will honor students, faculty, and staff. Presented monthly, the awards are part of a celebration of the revamping of the strategic plan for Illinois State University. Educate Connect Elevate: Illinois State—The Strategic Plan for Illinois’ First Public University 2018-2023 spells out the University’s commitment to Learning and Scholarship, Diversity and Inclusion, Respect, Collaboration, Individualized Attention, Civic Engagement, Integrity.
Nominations are accepted on an ongoing basis. Nominees can be any current Illinois State student, faculty or staff member, or a group of people at Illinois State working toward a program or initiative that reflects the core values.

- Living Our Values Student Award
- Living Our Values Faculty/Staff Award
- Living Our Values Group/Initiative Award
Those nominating should be able to explain how the nominee exemplifies one or more of Illinois State University’s core values:
- Learning and Scholarship
- Diversity and Inclusion
- Respect
- Collaboration
- Individualized Attention
- Civic Engagement
- Integrity
