Judith Duncan of University Housing Services will retire June 30. A retirement reception will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 28, in the Rosa Parks Conference Room of Watterson Towers. Remarks will be made at 3:45 p.m.
Duncan began her career at Illinois State University on February 16, 1986, in University Housing Services and has never looked back. She has had several occupations within the housing unit from receptionist to Account Tech III, and she has seen many people come and go throughout the years.
When she started, Housing was an annex behind Fell Hall and she watched as the new Office of Residential Life (ORL) building was built. She said it was exciting to move into the ORL building and to have a new space, yet sad to leave such a wonderful building as Fell Hall.
There have been many changes in Housing over the years; however, Duncan has been described as a constant. Constant in her warm smile for everyone who passed her area, spoke with her, or interacted with her daily. Constant in her willingness to help, whether that be answering questions, training others, or rolling up her sleeves and assisting!
Duncan has expressed that she will always be grateful for the wonderful working environment and people to work with. She takes with her 33 years of memories and friendships that will last for many years to come as she moves on to new adventures.
