This year’s Gamma Phi Circus is cancelled due to the COVID-19 situation and the Illinois governor’s ban on events with over 250 people. The health and safety of our student performers, staff, and audience members is always our top priority.

All proceeds from tickets not refunded will be a donation to the Gamma Phi Circus General Fund. If you would like a receipt for tax purposes, please contact Rainie Themer at (309) 438-2937. 

Tickets for the 2020 Gamma Phi Circus at Redbird Arena are now on sale to the public. Bring the whole family to the Redbird Big Top and fall in love with the music of the past and the present reimagined by Gamma Phi Circus as they take you on an exciting adventure through The World of Music!

Gamma Phi Circus is offering three exciting performances as part of Illinois State University’s annual Sibling Weekend. Performances will take place Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. There will be a special children’s carnival sponsored by the Student Alumni Council on the Redbird Concourse beginning at noon before the 1 p.m. show on Saturday, April 18. This popular Sibling Weekend event is kid-approved and open to everyone who has a youth ticket to the matinee show!

This year marks the 91st anniversary of the founding of the Gamma Phi Circus by Clifford “Pop” Horton. Since 1929, Gamma Phi Circus has provided a unique opportunity for Illinois State University students to develop both physically and mentally through the practice of circus arts. Every April, Gamma Phi Circus produces a two-hour live performance featuring over a dozen circus acts. Gamma Phi Circus troupe members are involved in all aspects of the show including costuming, choreography, act development, set design, and promotion.
