Dan Wagner ’89, M.S. ’94, an alumnus of the Department of Politics and Government and senior vice president of government relations for The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies Inc., was appointed to the position of secretary of the board of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce.
Wagner is currently the chairman of the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce and has held many different positions on various boards and committees that together speak to an impressive commitment to the real estate industry and to civic engagement. These positions include treasurer and president-elect of Illinois REALTORS, president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS, commissioner on the DuPage Airport Authority, trustee for The Conservation Foundation, board member for the Civic Federation of Chicago, and board member of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA).
Wagner’s professional accomplishments and civic engagement have been recognized with a number of awards, including the Advocacy Award from the Illinois Park and Recreation Association and the Alumni Achievement Award from Illinois State University. He has also been inducted into Illinois State University’s College of Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame and Division of Student Affairs’ Steve and Sandi Adams Legacy Hall of Fame.
