The student Pride chapter at Illinois State University will present the annual Charity Drag Show at 7 p.m. March 26 via Zoom.
Registration is available here.
Chicago favorite Bambi Banks-Couleé will headline the evening with performances from local drag talent and newcomers to the virtual stage. The event will be hosted by drag show royalty Sharon Sharealike, an Illinois State alum and mother of the House of Sharealike.
Tickets are free, but donations are encouraged to support the University’s LGBTQ+ Student Support Endowment Fund. The fund provides emergency financial assistance for students who lose the financial support of their family due to their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. “The fund is an incredibly important resource for our students,” said ISU Pride President Emily Patterson. In the last five years, the fund has allocated more than $50,000 to Illinois State students.
Tips for drag show performers will also be available throughout the show via Venmo.
