Illinois State University’s Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts and School of Music are excited to announce the return of Concerts on the Quad (COTQ) for summer 2021. All concerts are free and open to the public and will take place at 7 p.m. on the east side of Cook Hall. Concertgoers should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Monday, June 28—33rd Illinois Volunteer Regiment Band

The series opens with the authentic reenactment of the Civil War-era band that was mustered at Illinois State Normal University in 1861.

Billboard magazine has lauded her “descriptive songwriting and soulful vocals alongside a versatile blend of folk, rock and R&B influences.”

Monday, July 12—The Honey Dewdrops

Sing Out! magazine has praised this Americana duo’s “gorgeous harmonies, thrilling arrangements, and some remarkably insightful, honest writing.”

Monday, July 19—Kevin Hart and the Vibe Tribe

Enjoy hot licks and cool riffs on a summer’s eve.

Monday, July 26—Singing under the Stars: Tribute to Patty Foltz

Illinois State University faculty and guests perform favorites in a loving tribute to Patty Foltz, longtime COTQ performer and School of Music accompanist.

Concerts on the Quad is sponsored by the Mirza Fund for Arts and Culture of the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation and the Alice & Fannie Fell Trust.

In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be moved to the Concert Hall in Illinois State University’s Center for the Performing Arts, located on the southeast corner of the Quad, next to Williams Hall. Listen to radio stations WGLT (89.1 FM), WBNQ (101.5 FM), or WJBC (1230 AM) after 6 p.m. on concert days for announcements or site changes.
