Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies Craig C. McLauchlan has named Dr. Noelle M. Selkow as director of Illinois State University’s Graduate School. She has served in the interim role since January 2019.

Selkow, a professor of kinesiology and recreation, served as a graduate program director. She and the admissions team were able to increase enrollment and foster personalized communication with prospective students. In that role, she also helped maintain program accreditation, advised student cohorts, and oversaw graduate admissions. She joined Illinois State University in 2011 as an assistant professor.

“Dr. Selkow has a passion for graduate education and advocating for our graduate students,” said Dr. McLauchlan. “I believe her knowledge and experience on campus combined with her focus on customer service for our students and units on campus will help elevate the role of graduate education and the Graduate School in the coming months.”

Selkow received a Ph.D. in sports medicine and a master’s degree in athletic training at the University of Virginia. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Mount Union College (now the University of Mount Union).
