Day of Silence

On April 8, people will remain silent to help end discrimination towards the LGBTQ+ community. You can participate by taking a vow of silence (no matter how long) to call attention to and signify the prevalence of, the silencing, and harassment against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer students.
How you can participate:
- Visit our table on Schroeder Plaza, Wednesday, April 6, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. to take the pledge and receive an ally pin.
- Act on your pledge by joining a virtual silent meditation session, Friday, April 8.
Consent Day
Wednesday, April 13, 2022
Stop by Schroeder Plaza from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. to explore consent and its vital role in healthy relationships. Visit with student and local community organizations to learn how to empower yourself and communicate consent. Participating organizations include the Student Wellness Ambassador Team (SWAT), Students Ending Rape Culture (SERC), and Stepping Stones.
How you can participate:
- Take a pledge to commit to consent and help end sexual violence.
- Earn an exclusive Consent Day shirt (limited to the first 300 students).
Denim Day
Wednesday, April 27, 2022
Denim Day is a nationally and annually recognized advocacy event, in which individuals are encouraged to wear denim in order to raise awareness of rape and sexual assault. SWAT, SERC, and Health Promotion and Wellness invite staff, faculty, and students to come together to support survivors of sexual assault.
How you can participate:
- Wear denim on Wednesday, April 27.
- Show off your denim look and visit us on Schroeder Plaza from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a chance to win a wellness basket.
- Use #RedbirdDenim to raise awareness on social media.
