Director of the Office of Energy Management within Facilities Services Chris Homan will be retiring from Illinois State University on April 30, after 16 years of service.
Homan received his bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Purdue and his MBA from Eastern Illinois University. He joined the Illinois State University community in 2006 as assistant director of the Office of Energy Management after 25 years in the private sector. As the director of the Office of Energy Management, he oversees all aspects of the campus Heating Plant operations as well as the Utility Procurement and Reporting unit. Homan said he greatly enjoyed working with the Heating Plant and OEM employees to find ways of making our campus more energy efficient and reliable. He also enjoyed participating in the ISU Leadership Initiative Steering Council, Chairing the Facilities Key Performance Indicators Initiative and Co-Chairing the Finance and Planning Business Process Improvement Initiative.
During retirement, Homan will continue to lead the Central Illinois APEC Chapter (Association of Professional Energy Consultants) as well volunteer at his church and spend time with his family.
The Facilities Services Department appreciates all Homan has accomplished and wishes him well in retirement.
