Dr. Lana Kuhle, associate professor of philosophy at Illinois State University, will present “Novel Features In Sensory Perception” on Wednesday, October 19, at 2 p.m. in 367 State Farm Hall of Business.

Providing an abstract view of the presentation, Kuhle said, “The body is constitutive of our consciousness, and we can see this by looking at interoception. I argue that interoception generates novel phenomenal features in our perceptual experience, which I call the tone of embodiment. As a result, we begin to see how the perceiver becomes an embodied perceiver.”
