Glover said he was “extremely excited” to represent Team USA at the world championships, and it was an honor to compete with “big time throwers” who he has watched as a fan. “I’ve had a tough few years dealing with injuries, so I’m grateful for the chance to throw,” Glover said.
In his time at Illinois State, Glover won two NCAA titles in the javelin. He also captured four Missouri Valley Conference championships in the event and continues to hold the school record at 81.69 meters (268 feet). An Illinois State Athletics Percy Family Hall of Famer, Glover was an All-American who competed in the 2012 U.S. Olympic trials.
