The Illinois State University Early Childhood Education (ECE)-Online Workforce Program staff are providing virtual information sessions to prospective students during the spring 2023 semester.

The 100% online program is designed for individuals currently working with children birth through five years of age with an associate’s degree, Gateway Level 4, and experience in the early childhood field. This two-year program allows working professionals to earn their bachelor’s degree and Professional Educator License (PEL) while continuing to work. Upon completion of the program and licensure requirements, students will also receive an Early Childhood Special Education letter of approval, enabling them to teach special education in pre-kindergarten.

Each session will explain the requirements starting Fall 2023, as well as addressing aspects of its structure, potential financial aid opportunities, and any other concerns prospective students may have.

The dates and times for each session are as follows:

  • Wednesday, February 8 at 6:00pm
  • Wednesday, February 22 at 6:00pm
  • Saturday, March 4 at 11:00am

In addition to the information sessions, program staff continue to provide a supportive and community-centered environment through the entirety of the online program. By providing mentors, tutors, and specialized academic advisors who are uniquely equipped to assist non-traditional students at every stage of the process, faculty and staff have prioritized the unique needs of the student body as working professionals, parents, and caregivers.

Professionals interested in the program should also fill out the pre-admissions form to begin their journey with the ECE Workforce Program.
