This year marks the 94th anniversary of the founding of Gamma Phi at Illinois State University in 1929 by Clifford “Pop” Horton. Gamma Phi is the oldest collegiate circus in the nation. Over the decades, the circus has provided Illinois State students the unique opportunity to develop both physically and mentally through the practice of the circus arts.
Members of the Gamma Phi Circus not only perform in the show, but also take part in act creation, music selection, prop and set design, costume design, and marketing and promotion. Alumni can be found performing at Cirque du Soleil, Disney Cruise Lines, in Las Vegas, and more. For more information, contact Gamma Phi Circus Program Director Rainie Themer Bosquet at mltheme@ilstu.edu or at (309) 438-2937.
