Members of five strategy workgroups, charged with identifying recommendations to enhance support for faculty at Illinois State University, will hold open forums in late October. These forums will provide an opportunity for faculty to learn more about progress made in identifying needs, share insights on the results, and aid in establishing potential campus-wide solutions. Workgroups will make brief presentations and then engage with participants in guided discussions. Sessions will be:

  • Wednesday, October 25, from 10-11:30 a.m. in Stevenson Hall 401
  • Tuesday, October 31, from 2-3:30 p.m. in Stevenson Hall 401

These workgroups spent the spring analyzing data collected in the Collaboration on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) survey. Preliminary results of the survey are available on the Office of the Provost’s website. The groups were formed to focus on five distinct topics: appreciation/recognition, compensation, leadership, research, and service.

Each team is led by tenured faculty members and includes representation by other faculty members nominated through a process conducted in early spring 2023. In addition, the groups receive support from University Assessment Services, the Office of Planning, Research, and Policy Analysis, the Center for Integrated Professional Development, and WEB and Interactive Communications.

After the forums, action plans will be finalized and shared with the campus community.
