The Illinois State University Board of Trustees and Memorial Health cordially invite you to the Mennonite College of Nursing–Springfield ribbon cutting ceremony and reception.

When: Friday, August 18 at 10 a.m.
Where: 206 N. Grand Ave. W., Springfield, Illinois
Cost: Free

The ribbon cutting and reception will take place Friday, August 18, at 10 a.m. at 206 N. Grand Ave. W. in Springfield. In partnership with Memorial Health, the Springfield location is set to host its inaugural class this fall. Intended to help address a critical need for more nurses, this will increase MCN’s capacity and create a pathway for more students to become nurses in Central Illinois.

The event will include remarks from leaders at Illinois State University and Memorial Health, as well as a Redbird student nurse. After the ribbon cutting, light snacks and refreshments will be available as well as tours of the facility.

The Springfield location is available exclusively for transfer students and offers an array of benefits, including:

  • Classes are taught in a modern, freshly renovated building.
  • Clinicals are held at five hospitals within the Memorial Health network.
  • Skills are practiced in Memorial Health’s state-of-the-art nursing simulation environment.
  • Automatic $500 scholarships are awarded for up to 48 students who enroll.
  • The same curriculum is taught at the Normal location.

MCN has a 100-plus-year history and joined Illinois State in 1999. With an NCLEX five-year average pass rate of 94.6% percent, beating both the state and national average, the program is highly sought after by prospective students. Memorial Health hospitals have received multiple Magnet and Pathway to Excellence designations, which recognize the highest standards of nursing quality.
