Mindfulness
Mindfulness means paying attention to your present-moment experience, non-judgmentally. Meditation is a powerful way to practice mindfulness. When we practice mindfulness or meditation, we aren’t trying to stop our thoughts or feelings, but we are learning to be aware of them, and then let them go as we come back to what we are doing in that moment, again and again, and not thinking about it as good or bad.
Mindfulness meditation doesn’t change life. Life remains as fragile and unpredictable as ever. Meditation changes the heart’s capacity to accept life as it is.” – Sylvia Boorstein
In our mindfulness classes, you will learn to practice various mindfulness and meditation techniques that can help to improve your sleep, reduce stress and anxiety, improve your focus on tasks at work or academically, lead to better eating behaviors, and contribute to a greater sense of well-being and happiness. Each class is four sessions. The course is free, but registration is required.
