Starting Friday, August 18, ReggieNet will only be accessible in “read-only” mode. This is an important step in the transition to Canvas, which will be the University’s officially supported learning management system (LMS) starting this fall.

Why “read-only” mode?

Using one LMS is the best way to provide Illinois State students with a consistent digital learning experience. In addition, decommissioning ReggieNet is a process that will take most of the fall semester—moving to a read-only state is the first step. Finally, read-only mode allows instructors to download any information they need from ReggieNet before it is permanently shut down after November 30, 2023.

What can I still do in ReggieNet?

Instructors will be able to log into ReggieNet through ReggieNet.IllinoisState.edu.  All of your past courses will be available. This will allow you to view and copy or download information for your own archives.

What can I not do in ReggieNet?

In read-only mode, all ReggieNet course sites will be “unpublished,” meaning they will not be accessible to students. In addition, instructors will not be able to republish courses, edit past materials, or add students to a course.

How do I get my materials out of ReggieNet?

Instructors can export information from ReggieNet themselves and store it on their own device or in their Illinois State OneDrive account. Check out these guides:

For more complicated courses, such as those with a lot of quiz questions or Lessons pages, instructors can request to have the whole ReggieNet site migrated into Canvas. The deadline for all migrations is November 1, 2023.

Instructors should send their students to the Technology Support Center (TSC) for assistance using Canvas. The TSC can assist all users on campus with basic technology concerns, like logging into Canvas or installing mobile apps.
