Illinois State University announces the launch of a new Years of Service Employee Recognition Program that will be unveiled at the Welcome Back Faculty/Staff Luncheon hosted by Interim President Aondover Tarhule and Dr. Roos Tarhule on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
The luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on September 7, in the Circus Room and Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center. A formal program will begin at 12:15 p.m.
Faculty and staff must register to attend the luncheon so an accurate food count will be available. Please submit the RSVP form by Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Faculty and staff members will be honored for milestone years of service in five-year increments starting at the five-year mark of service. This year, all current employees as of September 1, 2023, who have worked five or more years, will receive the new years of service items.
During the luncheon, Years of Service Recognition items can be picked up in the Old Main Room, Bone Student Center. Recognition items for eligible faculty and staff, who are unable to attend, will be available for pick-up in Hovey Hall, Room 307, until September 30, 2023.
In the past, the University recognized Administrative Professional (A/P) and Civil Service (CS) employees for their years of service starting at 10 years of service and continuing in five-year increments. That program, coordinated through Human Resources, was paused in 2019 during the pandemic, first, because of health guidelines and, later, due to supply chain issues that made many of the previous recognition gifts unavailable.
During the program’s hiatus, a campus committee worked diligently to create a new recognition program facilitated by the Office of Presidential and Trustee Events. Faculty members will now be recognized for years of service in the same way as A/P and CS staff.
