Illinois State University’s School of Theatre and Dance presents Keetha B’s Princess Fearless, directed by faculty member Jimmy Chrismon. The performances will take place in the Center for the Performing Arts Theatre on September 21, 22, and 23 at 7:30 p.m., as well as at 2 p.m. on September 23 (a sensory-friendly performance) and September 24.

Adapted from a children’s book by the same author, Princess Fearless is the story of a young grade-school girl, Lou, who works with friends and family to overcome her fears of the large dog in her neighborhood. Over the course of the play, Lou and her friends are challenged to meet new people and try new things. They have adventures together around their school and neighborhood, learning valuable lessons about friendship and bravery along the way.

This production establishes a world on stage of color and fun. Since the beginning of the process, director Jimmy Chrismon has emphasized that the performance should feel “upbeat and bright and happy.”

Experience the trials and joys of childhood again through this delightful play designed to be inviting for children of all ages, their families, and anyone who may just want a break from the concerns of the outside world.
