Milner Library has partnered with From the Page, a crowdsourced transcription service, to transcribe hundreds of handwritten historical documents, such as diary entries, postcards, letters, and photo captions. These documents are important parts of Milner’s collections, bringing history to life in the words of those who lived it.
Milner seeks volunteers to help transcribe these collections—transcriptions can be done from anywhere, and every word transcribed helps! Because From the Page tracks users’ transcription times, transcribing also makes volunteers eligible for prizes from Milner Library in gratitude for helping us make history accessible to all, including stickers, Milner stationery, and even an Ange Milner bobblehead.
Visit From the Page to start transcribing. For questions about From The Page, contact Digitization Coordinator Karmine Beecroft. More information on Milner Library’s digital and special collections can be found at Library.IllinoisState.edu.
