Human Resources announces the open enrollment period for Prudential Long Term Disability benefits. The open enrollment will be available in iPeople beginning September 21, 2023, and will run through October 5, 2023.
Important Information Regarding Prudential Long Term Disability
- This is a voluntary benefit that coordinates with your SURS Disability benefit if you are unable to work for an extended period of time due to your own serious health condition and have exhausted your accrued benefit time with the University. For more information on the coordination between SURS and Prudential, please review page 4 of the Prudential brochure.
- This benefit is available for payroll deduction.
- Those who enroll during the open enrollment period will be accepted with no proof of good health/medical questionnaire. However, it is important to understand that a pre-existing period will still apply. For more information on the pre-existing clause, please review page 6 of the Prudential brochure.

If you elect to participate during the open enrollment period, coverage will become effective on November 1, 2023, with the first premium deduction taken on the check issued November 30, 2023.
