The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD) is pleased to recognize two alumni during Homecoming events. Ryan Mulligan will be honored as the distinguished audiology alum, while Kimberly Pritikin will be honored as the distinguished speech-language pathology alum. Both individuals were selected for this honor because of their contributions to the profession of communication sciences and disorders.

Mulligan is a full-time clinical audiologist at VA Healthcare Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. Since graduating from Illinois State in 2016, he has provided comprehensive audiologic care to veterans at VA clinics on both the east and west coasts. His areas of clinical expertise include diagnostic assessment of hearing and balance, VA medicolegal evaluations, and amplification. Mulligan currently precepts and mentors third-year doctoral interns from Eastern Carolina University. His aim as an audiologist is to maximize the ability of patients to hear and communicate so they can live life to the fullest.

Kimberly Pritikin's professional headshot

Pritikin has worked in a variety of settings including geriatric home health, home-based private services, early intervention, clinic, school-based and tele-practice over the past 25 years, after graduating from Illinois State in 1994. Pritikin currently works for Pearson Virtual Schools, providing teletherapy to students in multiple states. As an invited speaker on topics regarding legislative/regulatory issues, Pritikin brings a sense of energy compelling the listener to take action. As an advocate for both the profession and patients/clients, Pritikin actively engages in professional service in a variety of organizations.

The honorees will return to campus for Homecoming activities October 12-13. While on campus, they will attend a department breakfast and speak in various CSD courses. Additionally, they will attend the University’s luncheon to honor distinguished alumni on campus for Homecoming.
